Types of Replacement Windows: Awning windows work well when it’s raining
If there was ever a window you accidentally left open when a rain storm hit, it had better be an Awning window. This window cranks out from the bottom and hinges at the top creating ventilation while still being protected from a light summer rain. We don’t suggest leaving your awning windows open in a rain storm, but you can rest assured that the composite Fibrex™ material won’t mold or rot if some water finds its way on the sashes and frames.
Think of this window as a “Venting Picture Window.” Many homes in Maine and New Hampshire were built with double-hung windows or double-casement windows over a kitchen sink. Depending on the existing size of your current window, we may be able to redesign that opening with an awning window to gain a clear view while still being able to ventilate. Or they can be combined or joined with other window styles for a unique and customized look in your living room. Awning windows combined with a fixed picture window give you an expansive glass area, while retaining ventilation properties.
All of our Renewal by Andersen windows are available in a wide range of frame colors and finishes to match or complement the colors of your home. You can choose the same color for both the interior and exterior, or select any exterior color with a stainable wood, white or canvas interior. The window colors will not flake, rust, blister, peel, crack, pit or corrode, making maintenance a thing of the past. In addition, if you choose to paint your windows, we give you instructions that won’t void your warranty.
Let Renewal by Andersen provide you with a replacement window project quote. We may come up with some ideas, having replaced over 1 million windows nationwide, that others can’t even dream of.
